Classic images of Boston on heavy-weight Botticino tumbled marble. Each of
these coasters measures 4" x 4" x 3/8" thick and
is backed with a layer of no-slip cork. Each
set includes these four Boston images (see below): The Old North
Church, Paul Revere Statue, The USS Constitution, Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
Made in the USA of Botticino marble. Botticino is the name given to the light beige color marble that appears in great quantities in parts of Italy and Turkey. Massive amounts of heat and pressure in the earth's crust converted limestone into marble. The different impurities mixed in the limestone such as calcite, hematite, and limonite give Botticino a wonderfully varied texture and its beautiful coloring. No two stones are alike. Each has a varied gradations of color and a rough-hewn, tumbled look.
